Le Vent du Nord guests on Studio 12

Le Vent du Nord will soon appear on Studio 12, a TV show produced by the French CBC. On December 11th, our four friends will perform in a special concert with Quebec artists Nicolas Pellerin, Caracol, and Fred Fortin. You can be a part of this concert by being in the audience during the taping of the concert which will air on radio (Première chaîne and Espace musique) and on TV (Radio-Canada and ARTV). Canadian Folk Music Awards

The CFMA organizing committe today announced the nominees for the this year’s Canadian Folk Music Awards. Le Vent du Nord have been selected by the jury as finalists for the 2008 Traditional album of the year and Ensemble of the year. Congratulations to all nominees !

ADISQ: Dans les Airs Nominated!

Dans les Airs, the third album by Le Vent du Nord, has been nominated for ADISQ's "Album of the Year: Trad". The ADISQ (Association québécoise de l’industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo) Gala celebrates the most deserving artists in Quebec, and the winner will be announced on October 28th at Montreal's Metropolis. Congratulations and good luck to all nominees.

Le Vent du Nord on the 2009-2010 Mid-Atlantic Touring Roster

Le Vent du Nord has just been selected as an official Folk/Traditional artist for the 2009-2010 season of the Mid-Atlantic Tours managed by the US Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation (USA). Also on the roster are Habib Koité & Bamada (World), STREB (Dance), The Regina Carter Quartet (Jazz), and Universes (Theatre). This tour will promote Le Vent du Nord in the Mid-Atlantic region which includes the following states: DC, MD, NJ, DE, VA, WV, PA, NY, and others.

Mesdames et messieurs: a CD LIVE

The special concert Le Vent du Nord presented this past July 26 during the Mémoire et Racines festival will be released on CD this fall (Borealis Records/Linus/True North). The album is scheduled to hit the shelves on November 11.
